Highland Community College has appointed Dr. Jennifer A. Schiller as executive vice president, effective immediately.

Dr. Schiller, a first-generation college graduate, brings more than 20 years of experience in higher education leadership roles. Her areas of expertise include strategic planning and change management, assessment, accreditation, technology infrastructure and data analytics.

Schiller most recently served as vice president for strategic initiatives at the College, where among many projects, she led the College’s efforts to implement a new student information system.

“Dr. Schiller’s expertise in data solutions, educational research, assessment and strategic planning make her a tremendous asset to our executive team as we drive progress for the College,” said President Vincent Bowhay. “I am confident that her experience in strategic transformation will be an asset as we build our financial strength, operational excellence, and further our deep commitment to student and employee success.”

Dr. Schiller holds a doctorate in teacher education, a master of education in general education and data literacy, and a bachelor of arts in English literature from the University of Buffalo in Buffalo, New York. Her passion for student success and college transformation can be seen in her diverse research and publication efforts as well as her service activities with Educause, the Higher Learning Commission and American Educational Research Association.
