Student Resource Guide

If you have a concern about sexual misconduct, general misconduct, or if you simply want to express a concern about a fellow student, co-worker or campus visitor, please fill out the appropriate form below and your concern will be routed to the appropriate campus personnel.

In accordance with HB 2105, signed into law on April 14th, 2024, Highland Community College does not condition admission or educational aid to an applicant for admission, hiring an applicant for employment or hiring, reappointing or promoting a faculty member, on the applicant's or faculty member's pledging allegiance to or making a statement of personal support for or opposition to any political ideology or movement, including a pledge or statement regarding diversity, equity or inclusion, or to request or require any such pledge or statement from an applicant or faculty member.

The College does not require any form of Diversity Equity or Inclusion (DEI) pledge, allegiance, or oath.

The College follows all required federal equal opportunity employment and Title IX requirements. The College has a notice of non-discrimination displayed on its website and the notice of non-discrimination statement is utilized in all job advertisements. Highland Community College greatly values everyone and is committed to serving all individuals.

Equity Grievance Policy

This form should be used to report an incident involving an alleged violation of the Highland Community College Equity Grievance Policy (including sexual harassment, sexual assault, gender-based harassment, domestic violence, dating violence, sexual exploitation, and stalking) by anyone wishing to file a report on behalf of a Highland Community College student or employee.

HCC Discrimination, Harassment, or Gender-Based Misconduct Form

This form is a multi-purpose tool used to document a wide range of incidents (i.e, something happened that you want to tell us about), report students of concern (someone you are worried about), potential violations of HCC policy (e.g. cheating, alcohol, fighting ,etc. and or general concerning behavior. This ranges from low-level "FYI" notices to mid-level concerns to major issues. If there is an active emergency please contact Campus Security or call 9-1-1.

HCC General Incident Report

Highland Community College affirms its commitment to promote the goals of fairness and equity in all aspects of the educational enterprise.  All policies below are subject to resolution using the College’s Equity Grievance Process, as detailed below.  The Equity Grievance Process is applicable regardless of the status of the parties involved, who may be members or non-members of the campus community, students, student organizations, faculty, administrators and/or staff.  The College reserves the right to act on incidents occurring on-campus or off-campus, when the off-campus conduct could have an on-campus impact or impact on the educational mission of the College.

Description of roles EGP members may have:

  • To provide sensitive intake and initial counseling of grievances 
  • To serve in a mediation role in conflict resolution 
  • To investigate grievances 
  • To act as advisors to those involved in grievances 
  • To serve on hearing panels for grievances 
  • To serve on appeal panels for grievances 

If you or someone you know is the victim of a crime or if there has been a violation of the Student Code of Conduct, it is important that you contact personnel that can help you resolve the matter.
